graphic arts RESUME
6/03 to present: Matthew Haggett Art and Design, freelance graphic designer, illustrator, fine- and commercial- artist.
I currently provide graphic design, illustration, and art services to a number of clients. Projects have included graphic design for interpretive centers, logo design, web design and maintenance, design and production of assorted print collateral, outdoor signage, vehicle graphics, book covers, and numerous 1-color and 4-color print ads. I also provide illustration services using traditional and digital techniques, often in combination.
4/2000 to 6/2003: Graphic production manager, Promotion Products, Inc. Portland, OR
I planned, set up, then managed an inkjet printing facility for PPI, one of the larger west coast exhibit companies. [site] I managed between $500K and $800K per year of graphic production, including inkjet and vinyl production for both interpretive and corporate exhibits: trade shows, museums, interpretive centers, architectural graphics, directional signage, etc. I managed a small production staff and worked closely with a team of 6-9 graphic designers as well as 3D designers, project managers, sales staff, clients and vendors.
1999-2000: Graphics Manager, Intex Exhibit Systems. Vancouver, WA.
I set up then managed Intex’ large format printing facility and managed one graphic designer and one graphic production artist. Intex fabricates and distributes four lines of portable, modular, and pop-up exhibit systems. My department produced inkjet and vinyl graphics for Intex’ clients. I also redesigned Intex logo, created 'logo bugs' for two of their product lines, and created the design still used in their web site introduction. [site]
1992-94 / 1996-99: Senior Graphic designer / Graphic designer / Graphic production artist, Promotion Products, Inc. Portland, OR
I started at PPI as an entry level graphic production artist shortly after completing my undergraduate degree in fine art. Over the next six years (92 too 99 interrupted by my almost-two-year MFA program), I filled a variety of graphic production and graphic design positions. My final position held was senior graphic designer -- the majority of that spent on interpretive projects.
